This is a spectacular and massive Armoire made from solid and beautifully patinaed oak by the first half of the 18th century during the Regence period (1715-1723) and originally coming from Lyon in Central France. This tall and magnificent antique is mounted by a flat molded cornice sitting above a straight façade boasting an intricate upper frieze accented with acanthus patterns upon a fantastic pair of quadruple paneled doors, highlight with boldly sculpted and scrolled moldings, revealing a spacious storage compartment with 3 shelves, all supported by massive straight legs for sturdiness. Note several scratches and dents can be seen due to the age. Circa date 1720. Dimensions 98 ½"high/ 52"wide/ 58"wide with crown/ 21"deep. |
