It is made by the beginning of the 18th century during the reign of Louis XIV. This impressive piece, hand sculpted from solid and beautifully patinaed oak, is mounted by a large flat molded cornice above a fantastic façade featuring 2 large compartments revealed by 2 pairs of recessed paneled doors intricately accented with acanthus and floral patterns separated by a central belt featuring 2 large drawers highlighted by boldly sculpted moldings. Hardware is in original condition, except for the lock on the upper compartment and the screws holding the lock at the bottom. Several scratches and dents can be seen all around this piece due to the age. Circa date 1700. Dimensions 80"high/ 61 ¾"wide (Body)/ 77"wide (Including Crown)/ 21 ¾"deep. |
