This is a lovely and very decorative pair of painted sconces made from lime tree by the first quarter of the 20th century and consisting of a serpentine shaped frame surrounding the original mirror and highlighted by pierced carved acanthus patterns mounted by an intricately carved shell-shaped bobeche. Note that this pair has to be rewired to the US Standard. Circa date 1930. Dimensions 19"high/ 11 ½"wide/ 3"deep. |
