Circa: 1610 Manufacturer: French
This is a magnificent and very rare set of 6 dining chairs made during the reign of Louis XIII by the beginning of the 17th century. Each hand sculpted and combining 2 types of woods as it was often the case in this type of chairs. The upper frame, which is supposedly to be entirely recovered, is made of solid pine while the beautiful and exquisitely patinaed pediment consisting of adorable barley twisted legs and stretchers that provide stability and sturdiness. This stunning set is a real piece of history. The fabric is indeed not original and estimated to be from the middle part of the 19th century. Note minor scratches and dents here and there due to the age but this set is still very sturdy after 4 centuries. Circa date 1610. Dimensions 33 ½"high/ 19 ½"seat height/ 19"wide/ 18 ½"deep.
