This is a stunning and elegant set of the famous Os De Mouton (Sheep Bone) dining chairs handmade from solid beech wood during the reign of Louis XIII by the first half of the 17th century. Such original period set is extremely rare. This type of chairs has been reproduced since this time period until today. This set of 6 features tall arched seat back standing upon the boldly sculpted pediment. Note minor scratches and dents here and there on the pediment due to the age. Circa date 1640. Dimensions 40 ½"high/ 16 ¾"seat height/ 17 ½"wide/ 17 ½"deep.
