Please Take 50% Off The Featured Price. A splendid and elegantly simple Mantle made from solid walnut by the end of the reign of Louis XVI and highlighted by its original and massive Portor marble. The Portor marble is originally from Italy, the quarry opened in the Antiquity, such marble has been commonly used by the French during the 17th & 18th Century and during the Art Nouveau period mostly for Mantle & Fireplace and Objets d’Art. The mantle is handmade and is slightly embellished with recessed panels and delicate molding. Note several minor scratches and dents all around the piece due to the age. Circa date 1780.
