An elegantly simple mantle clock made at the end of the 19th century made with the typical Mazy black marble; Such marble is originally coming from Belgium, it was commonly used in clock and cassolette manufacture in the 19th century. The round face is revealed by the original glass pane and highlighted by gilt Roman number, all surrounded by a bronze frame adorned with raie de cour design. The original clockmaker was Kohly from Marseille, while Bernard Lyon made the mechanism. This piece is in working order but will have to be checked by a clockmaker. Circa date 1890. Dimensions 9"high/14"wide/ 7"deep. |
