Here is a rustic and handsome Bench handcrafted from solid chestnut at the beginning of the 18th century during the reign of Louis XIV consisting of a rectangular paneled backseat standing upon a wide seat providing a folding top revealing 3 storage compartments, flanked by armrests and supported by a very sturdy pediment. Note several scratches, cracks and dents here and there due to the age. Circa date 1700. Dimensions 42"high/ 21 ½"seat height/ 78"wide/ 19"deep.
