This is an impressive grandfather clock handcrafted from solid walnut at the beginning of the 19th century during the Empire period. This elegantly simple piece is mounted by a thick arched molded step-back crown sitting upon the tall façade flanked by a pair of boldly turned columns. The enamel face is surrounded by an intricate hammered brass frame and sits above the original weight and brass pendulum. Note that this item would need to be installed by a professional clockmaker, as the mechanism has to be leveled. Circa date 1810. Dimensions 100"high/ 22"wide/ 14"deep. |
