This is a splendid gilded Crucifix made by the end of the reign of Napoleon III by the second half of the 19th century consisting of a serpentine shaped frame beautifully adorned with angels faces and interlaced floral and foliate patterns surrounding the spelter crucifix. Note the dark brown velvet, which is not original and added by the previous owner to replace the original one. Circa date 1870. Dimensions 29"high/ 16"wide.
