Here is a very pretty pair of side chairs made from solid walnut by the second half of the 19th century by the end of the reign of Napoleon III, each with intricate embellishment from the arched seatback to the pediment below combining acanthus and floral patterns. Note some minor scratches here and there due to the age. Circa date 1870. Dimensions 41"high/ 19 ½"seat height/ 16"wide/ 17"deep.
