This is a tall and handsome bookcase made from solid poplar at the beginning of the 19th century topped by a Chapeau de Gendarme cornice sitting upon a splendid façade featuring a pair of triple paneled arched doors mounted with chicken wire and revealing a very large display area with 3 large shelves, all standing on the nicely scrolled apron supported by boldly sculpted cabriole legs on escargot feet. Note that the painting is not original and estimated to be 50 years old. Some minor chips can be seen here and there due to the age. Circa date 1800. Dimensions 94"high/ 57"wide/ 21"deep.
