A very decorative inkwell handcrafted from lime tree by the middle part of the 19th century boasting an impressive embellishment with a detailed partridge upon foliate and oak leaf pattern. Note the pair of removable glass inkpots flanking the central compartment. Circa date 1860. Dimensions 4"high/ 12"wide/ 8"deep.
