This is an outstanding oval gilded mirror made by the second half of the 19th century and boasting an impressive embellishment from the upper pierced-carved cartouche depicting an acanthus-shaped medallion centering a lovely cherub upon the lovely frame adorned with twisted ribbon and small beads surrounding the mirror, which is estimated to be from the first quarter of the 20th century. Note secondary acanthus-shaped motif at the base matching the crown. Circa date 1880. Dimensions 60"high/ 39"wide. |
