This is a splendid and impressive tall gilded mirror made during the reign of Napoleon III by the middle part of the 19th century. This beautiful piece boasts an elaborate embellished from the stunning pierced-craved cartouche centering shell flanked by foliate and floral patterns upon the arched frame accented with floral garlands and featuring a pair of pierced carved acanthus leaves as legs. The mirror is not original and is estimated from the beginning of the 20th century, some minor dark spots can be seen here and there due to the age but nothing obvious. Circa date 1860. Dimensions 98 ½"high/ 64"wide. |
