This is a charming petite fire screen made from walnut by the end of the 19th century featuring an arched frame lovely accented with twisted ribbon and surrounding the original needlepoint upholstery depicting wreath interlaced by foliate, floral garlands and acanthus leaves. The fabric has faded due to the age; it used to be colored at some point as shown on the last picture, which give you an idea of the original colors. The pediment consists of 2 pair of arched legs adorned with acanthus rosettes and fluted patterns. Circa date 1890. Dimensions 36"high/ 24"wide/ 12"deep.
