This is a handsome and massive armoire made from solid oak by the end of the 18th century with a lovely molded cornice upon a pair of triple paneled doors with serpentine-shaped contours and intricately accented with detailed acanthus patterns with central medallions engraved with trellis design. Note the elegant brass escutcheons and hinges, which are in original condition. The interior compartment offers a large storage capacity with 3 shelves. The pediment consists of a simply scrolled apron flanked by bold cabriole legs on escargot feet. Circa date 1790. Dimensions 90"high/ 57"wide/ 22"deep. |
