Click for more detail... 149062NM580	19th Century French Louis XVI Style Walnut Fire Screen This is a charming petite fire screen made from walnut by the end of the 19th century featuring an arched frame lovely accented with twisted ribbon and surrounding the original needlepoint upholstery depicting wreath interlaced by foliate, floral garlands and acanthus leaves. The fabric has faded due to the age; it used to be colored at some point as shown on the last picture, which give you an idea of the original colors. This elegant and tall piece boasts a splendid pierced carved crest centering a detailed shell flanked by foliate and finials upon the original needlepoint upholstery in between an elegant pair of tapered barley twisted columns, all standing on 2 pairs of cabriole legs joined by an intricately turned bottom stretcher.
