19th Century French Prayer Book/ Missal “Serviteur de Marie”
A lovely 19th century missal published in French and approved by the Archbishop of Mende. The intricately embossed leather cover is trimmed by gilded dots and features a detailed cross surrounded by acanthus leaves. The edge of each page is gilded. Detailed engravings can be seen. This missal is in used condition. Circa date 1863. Dimensions 6 ½"high/ 4 ¼"wide.

19th Century French Napoleon III Period Missel
A splendid and rare 19th Century Missal covered by embossed dark brown leather accented by gilded Ermine Crosses also stamped on the edges of the pages. Some prayers from the original owner can be seen at the beginning of the book. This missal is written in French and Latin and illustrated with gilded, black and white engravings. The Ermine Cross is originally used in the banners of Brittany. This missal is in used condition and several pages are loose, note that one page is torn up with a small portion missing. Plon edited this book by the 1860’s. Great piece for collector. Circa date 1860. Dimensions 6"high/ 4"wide.
