Biot is a small town located in the Provence area, nobody is really sure how old the city is, the first document referring to it was some manuscripts from the 11th century. Biot was mostly known during the 16th to the 18th century as a pottery center. In the middle part of the 20th century, Biot started to change its activity to glasswork for which the city is today well known. This boldly made Jar is typically decorated with a large frieze with geometrical patterns and the famous BIOT stamp. Note a large hole at the bottom to drain water.
