18th Century French Antique Louis XIII Style Trunk Please Take 50% Off The Featured Price. A stunning beginning of the 18th Century Trunk-Bench handcrafted from pine and walnut. This nicely patinated piece features a pair of boldly sculpted armrests standing upon a large compartment seat accented with diamond pattern and providing its original wrought iron hinges. The storage compartment is large and convenient. A large wrought iron escutcheon mounts the facade but the original lock is missing. The bottom part is carved all around which allow you to place this item in a middle of a room. Note that the legs are not original and were replaced at some point. Circa date 1700. Here is a rare and very decorative Trunk built as a chest of drawers, made from solid oak by the middle part of the 18th century during the reign of Louis XV. This interesting item consisting of a folding top revealing a large storage compartment sitting upon a straight façade featuring a pair of drawers upon a real one below, all supported by a nicely scrolled apron standing on thick and boldly sculpted cabriole legs. Note that the paint is not original and that the original handles have been replaced at some point. A few scratches, dents and chips might be seen here and there due to the age. Circa date 1750. This piece comes originally from "Avignon" in the South of France considered as the city of the Popes during the Middle Age. The folding top reveals a large storage compartment and sits upon simply but lovely handcrafted façade and sides featuring arches patterns (Typical from Avignon). This piece has indeed several imperfections such has scratches, cracks and dents due to the age.
